I just recently ordered a couple of items off of amazon.com and through the George Harrison website. My mother opted out on 2 day shipping (which I had asked her to do) with amazon, and there was only one form of shipping with GH. Worst Mistake of My Life!!!
On GH's website, I ordered the brand new 3 LP vinyl remaster of "All Things Must Pass" which, according to the website, would only be available in limited quantities throughout independent record stores on Black Friday. Not wanting to get killed by a crowd of people on Black Friday, I simply pre-ordered the vinyl through the website (if you ordered through the GH website, you got a free felt mat). I tried to track my package through the website and my receipt would keep showing up (from early November). There was no number to contact number so I could call, and I have no idea when, if ever, my package will come in. Also, the "exclusiveness" is completely untrue. I went to Newbury Comics the day after Black Friday, and the clerk was restocking 6 new copies of the album. Very disappointed.
On amazon.com, a trusted retailer in my family, I ordered an Elton John CD and the Millennium Trilogy by Steig Larrson. I asked my mother to pay for 2 day shipping but she went against my wishes and chose free shipping. I ordered my items on Black Friday and it said that everything would come in on December 3rd. My tracking number didn't work anywhere with anyone, and my package status was never updated. Also, amazon.com has no customer service line. This is the most bothersome thing EVER! I can't even find where my package is and I am hopelessly waiting for my items to come.
The moral of this post is to never trust online shopping's free shipping. If you want a set date of when your packages are to come in, choose 1 or 2 day shipping. That way, you won't be in my situation and you'll be reading your new books and listening to your CDs in two days or less

Rating Social Networks
I have had much experience when it comes to the whole "Social Networking Experience". Due to my experience, I thought I would rate each social networking site that i've been on. As you'll see, some websites are more "social" than others
1. Facebook-Rating: 9/10- My personal favorite site. Its very easy to navigate and you can contact friends in a simple way. There are some downsides to Facebook though. Some people can be very annoying! I have met a person on Facebook (who is pretty normal in real life) who posts several links and photos about one singer. To put it simply, she has over 1000 pictures of this singer through about 7 albums of photos...enough said... Also, there are the constant status updaters who update their status 10+ times a day. But, Facebook, with the right people, can be very fun and a good way to keep in touch with old and new friends.
2. Twitter-Rating: 7.5/10- Twitter is a fun way to follow friends and your favorite celebrities. It is very fun to see your friends links, updates, and twit-pics. The whole system of mentions and re-tweets is more complicated than the form of wall posts on Facebook. Twitter is slower than Facebook when it comes to chatting with your friends and it lacks games unlike all the games that Facebook has. Twitter is the better when it comes to hearing about celebrities and less about friends
3. Formspring-Rating: 1/10- Let's just say that I absolutely hate Formspring. The anonymous feature of this website is very irksome. The fact that people have the opportunity to ask you a question that they would never ask if their identity was shown gets extremely annoying. If you are a very sarcastic person who can make up witty or random replies (like me), you will have fun using your skills of sarcasm. If you don't, get ready for one hell of a ride
Hope this helps you choose what social networkings systems you should get on and which ones to sign out of. Also, if you are one of those people who do the negative acts that are listed, I hope you can change your ways :)

First Post
Welcome to my blog! I'm John and I thought that for my first blog post i'd tell you all about myself. I absolutely love coffee. I take after my mother in that instead of getting a headache when I have too much coffee, I get a headache from not having enough coffee. My personal favorite flavor has to be Blueberry Iced Coffee from Dunkin' Donuts with milk and no sugar.
I am a natural born traveler. I say "natural born" because my first vacation (to Disney World) occurred before I was even one year old. Ever since my first trip, i have been to Florida every year of my life. It really doesn't depend where i'm going, just as long as i'm with either family or friends i'm alright. Someday, i wish to travel outside of the country, but for now i remain in the good old USA.
My family and friends are very important to me. If I didn't have them and their support, I don't know where i would be today. I love going out and having a great time with my friends and hanging out with my wonderful cousins. My friends Carrie, Lindsay, and Elle, my sister Cristina, and I all enjoy seeing outdoor movies with each other. We have already made several plans for the upcoming Summer and next year's Fall because we love taking adventures
I'm very big on music. I collect records and listen to them on my turntable. Also, I am a self-proclaimed "box set junkie" because I have a spending problem when it comes to my music collection. It's horrible for my wallet but wonderful for my listening pleasure. I don't believe in rap music. Talking fast over an artificial beat about drugs, alcohol, sex, and violence using a voice modifier isn't music to me. I am a rock and roll addict. I love artists like The Beatles (and all their solo careers), The Rolling Stones, Simon and Garfunkel, Billy Joel, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, and I could go on but it would take much too long. The music of this time doesn't interest me very much. My favorite artist of this generation must be John Legend.
Well I feel as if i should end my introduction right now. As you read my blog, you will learn much more about me and my life. I hope you enjoyed reading this, and that you enjoy all future posts :)
